Nate Peterman threw three touchdowns, Qadree Ollison rushed for 111 yards, Tyler Boyd had 117 yards from scrimmage and Pitt scored on three straight drives to open the second half as the Panthers beat Duke 31-13 Saturday afternoon in Durham.

Pitt won their seventh game of the season, including their fifth on the road, while handing Duke their third straight loss.

The Backyard Brawl is back, even if it’s not for another seven years. When the West Virginia Mountaineers take the field in Pittsburgh in the fall of 2022, the players that will be freshmen on those teams are mere sixth-graders now.

Many probably haven’t even started to play organized football yet. Nevertheless, it’s a good thing that the rivalry will continue, at least for four season from 2022-2025.

SYRACUSE, NY - The Panthers' game-winning drive chewed up the final 9:20 of the game as they moved the ball from their own 5-yard line all the way inside the Syracuse 10.

The ‪Pitt‬ defense recorded seven sacks, forced three turnovers and held Virginia Tech to 100 total yards—just nine rushing—as the Panthers won their ACC opener 17-13 over Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

The Panthers got off to a quick start on their first drive with a 45-yard field goal by Chris Blewitt and increased the lead to 10-0 on and a 23-yard pass from Nathan Peterman to J.P.

Pitt rallied from a 10-point second-half deficit behind 131 yards from wide receiver Tyler Boyd, but Iowa's Marshall Koehn crushed a 57-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Hawkeyes over the Panthers 27-24 Saturday night.

Pitt trailed 17-7 at halftime but rallied to tie the game at 17-17 and then again at 24-24 before Koehn’s long game-winner.
