The Pirates made a series of moves on Thursday, signing shortstop Ronny Cedeno and pitcher Jeff Karstens, tendering contracts to pitchers Ross Ohlendorf and Joel Hanrahan, and letting outfielder Lastings Milledge become a free agent. Donnie Veal, Brian Burres and Argenis Diaz were also not offered deals.
