Starling Marte homered in his first at-bat back from the disabled list, but the Pirates could not generate any offense besides that, losing 4-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday afternoon.

Marte’s first inning moonshot over the center field bullpens should put any doubts that the right oblique that landed him on the 10 day DL is feeling better.

Joe Musgrove was nothing short of spectacular in his Pirates debut, throwing even shutout innings and scoring the game-winning run in an 8-1 win over the Cardinals.

Rookie starter Nick Kingham got hit early in his spot start Saturday, but still gave the Pirates a quality start. The offense, on the other hand, could not pick him up, and the Bucs dropped their second straight to the Padres 6-2.
