While Pitt’s recent history has been marred by coaching changes and dismissed players, Paul Chryst and his staff have added 23 high school seniors to form a class that has been rated between 35th and 40th by most recruiting services.

The class has several elite offensive players, two of whom are local talents.

By now, plenty of Penn State fans have heard new head coach James Franklin's plan to “dominate the state” on the recruiting trail. So far, though, he has been displaying his ability to do that away from Pennsylvania.

Franklin, who comes to Happy Valley after turning around Vanderbilt's program, was heralded by many as a top-notch recruiter. He showed that much almost immediately after arriving at Penn State.
