Duquesne University freshman T.J. McConnell has been chosen as the 2010-11 ECAC Division I Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Year, with averages of 10.7 points and 3.8 rebounds.

McConnell also averaged 2.8 steals per game—fourth nationally—and broke the Atlantic 10 freshman record for thefts in a season with 91.

Despite a valient comeback attempt, Duquense fell to Oregon 77-75 in the second round of the College Basketball Invitational Monday night. Bill Clark's layup cut Oregon's lead to one with 10 seconds left, but the Ducks held on and the Dukes season came to end. Clark led Duquesne with 19 points and Damian Saunders added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
