Graduated senior Swade Redman was one of the many seniors to participate in the awards ceremony on June 1, as the three-sport star took home several honors.
Included in his lengthy list of achievements was the CoGo's High School Sports Unsung Hero Award.
The Unsung Hero Award is presented to local student athletes who have dedicated themselves to sports and academics, but traditionally have not received the deserved attention.
Criteria for selection is based on sportsmanship, scholastics, dedication to the sport and team members, success on the field, relationship with officials, school district personnel, the community, and current and former team members.
A three-sport athlete during his high school career, Swade excelled as a member of the Jayhawks football, basketball and baseball teams. Swade gained more than 500 yards on the ground, over 300 in the air and also served as the team's kicker. He was named to the Roundball Classic all-star game in basketball and earned Academic All Conference honors this fall.
Redman was preseted his award by and Donna Bernatowicz, manager of the CoGo’s on Harrison Avenue and Fort Pitt Streets in Jeannette.
