Virginia wide receiver Matt Zanellato made a verbal commitment to Penn State this weekend. The 6-3, 190-pound Zanellato caught 76 passes for 1,450 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior for Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Va. Zanellato transferred to Lake Braddock from rival Robinson over the summer in order to play in a spread offense and team with quarterback Michael Nebrich, the 2009 region offensive player of the year.
Zanellato caught 43 passes as a junior and 21 as a sophomore at Robinson.
He is the sixth prospect to join the Nittany Lions' class of 2011, and chose Penn State over Miami (Ohio) and Delaware.
