
Penn State falls to Ole Miss 84-71

After going 4-0 to start the season the Penn State Nittany Lions fell at Ole Miss Friday night 84-71. Talor Battle was the leading scorer for Penn State and the leading scorer in the game with 26 points. Penn State only led once in this game and Ole Miss was able to get a lead as high as 13 points.
OFFENSE
Talor Battle led with 26 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists on the night. Forward David Jackson was the second highest scorer with 17 points from the field including four rebounds, an assist and a steal. Forward Jeff Brooks led Penn State with nine rebounds and also contributed with 15 points. As a team Penn State shot .422 from the field only making 23 of 52 shots in the game.
DEFENSE
Ole Miss made 27 of 52 shots against the Penn State defense and 13 of 29 from three point range. Guard Trevor Gaskins led Ole Miss with 24 points, making 6 of 11 shots from beyond the arc despite only playing 28 minutes. The Penn State defense also allowed them to get 11 offensive rebounds and 28 total rebounds. Ole Miss led at halftime 40-34.
