
KQV Newsradio to air Penn State basketball beginning December 1

KQV Newsradio 1410 announced today that Penn State Nittany Lion Basketball play-by-play will begin airing on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010. This marks Penn State’s eighth season under Head Coach Ed DeChellis
“We’re very pleased to welcome the Penn State Men’s Basketball program to KQV Newsradio,” said Robert W. Dickey, President and General Manager for 1410 KQV Newsradio. “It is thrilling to be able to broadcast a Big Ten team, and Nittany Lion basketball has a bright future. We are looking forward to a strong partnership with the University.”
To complement the game action, KQV will carry the Penn State Basketball Show, a call-in show with Coach DeChellis that will air Thursday nights at 6:05 p.m. throughout the season, as well as Inside Penn State Sports, a daily, three-minute update on Penn State Athletics hosted by Steve Jones, the voice of the Nittany Lions.
In addition to bringing on KQV to the Penn State Radio Network, Nittany Lions’ Basketball will continue to be broadcast on ESPN 1250-AM through Nov. 28.
Penn State Sports Properties (PSSP) is the multimedia rights holder for Penn State Athletics and a property of Learfield Sports. PSSP manages the Penn State Radio Network comprising nearly 60 stations across the state, including the Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg/Lancaster/Lebanon/York, Wilkes Barre/Scranton, Erie and Johnstown/Altoona/State College markets. PSSP also produces game day radio broadcasts and special programming syndicated on the Network.
The Nittany Lions improved to 2-0 by defeating St. Joseph’s on Tuesday. Penn State hosts Fairfield, the MAAC pre-season favorite, Friday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center.
