Penn State lands New England athlete

Connecticut's Golden chooses Lions over BC, UConn

Connecticut athlete Malik Golden has committed to Penn State. The 6-0, 180-pounder from  Cheshire Academy chose the Nittany Lions over Boston College, UConn and Iowa.

Golden, who played both running back and receiver as a junior, had 54 carries for 745 yards rushing. He also caught 48 catches for 680 yards. He played some defensive back as well, recording 19 tackles and 1 interception on the season.

Golden is Penn State's 17th recruit in the class of 2012.
