John Amaechi, one of the top players in Penn State basketball history, currently works as a psychologist, educator and sports broadcaster in Europe and the United States. Amaechi retired from basketball in 2007 after six seasons in the NBA and four in Europe. PSR's Tony DeFazio spent 45 minutes discussing the sex-abuse scandal at Penn State shortly before Thanksgiving.

After his retirement from the NBA, Amaechi became the first former NBA player to come out of the closet publicly.

If there’s one thing you can say about the Pirates, it’s that they’re consistent. The team suffered another losing season, setting a new record of 19 straight. But they made it exciting. They gave fans hope, if just for a little while. They really made it fun to watch them…

Sportscasting icon Dick Enberg, currently the play-by-play announcer for San Diego Padres telecasts, began a full-time sportscasting career in the 1960's calling radio broadcasts for the California Angels, Los Angeles Rams and UCLA Bruins basketball.

In 1975, Enberg joined NBC Sports and spent the next 25 years broadcasting a plethora of sports and events for NBC, including the NFL, MLB

When Don McLaughlin had a leg amputated due to poor circulation two years ago, he knew he didn’t want to become a spectator. “I was very active,” said the Michigan native who served with the Marines during the Vietnam War.

“I didn’t want to sit around on my butt and do nothing, so I got involved in wheelchair sports. And that led to here.”
