Robert Morris rallied from eight points down with just over two minutes remaining in regulation, but Jamal Olasewere scored 7 of his 31 points in the extra session, leading top-seeded Long Island over the Colonials in the NEC championship game. Russell Johnson had 22 points and Velton Jones 20 for Robert Morris.

In a playoff performance described by his coach as simply "unbelievable," Robert Morris guard Velton Jones scored a career-high 29 points to lead the Colonials past Wagner 78-74 on Thursday night in the Northeast Conference quarterfinals. RMU will travel to Quinnipiac on Sunday in the semifinals.

"Unbelievable.”

That was the only word Robert Morris coach Andrew Toole could find to describe the magnificent night put together by his point guard, Velton Jones.
