The future of Byron Leftwich, at least for this season, is up in the air after a gruesome arm injury that sent the quarterback to the locker room in tears on Saturday. Some reporters believe that he’ll be able to come back this season and some believe his injury will land him on injured reserve.

Antonio Brown racked up 137 yards on four receptions, including two long touchdown passes as the Steelers rolled over the Falcons 34-16 in the third preseason game. Ben Roethlisberger passed for 214 yards and was 11-of-16 on the night. Second-year corner Crezdon Butler iced the game early in the fourth quarter with a 95-yard interception return.

The Steelers have signed linebacker Lawrence Timmons to a six-year contract that will keep him with the team through the 2016 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though reports indicated the contract was worth in excess of $50 million.

The Steelers first-string offense strung together a pair of mammoth drives to begin the game and the defense churned out five turnovers, including three interceptions of Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, in a game that the Steelers dominated from start to finish, beating Philadelphia 24-14 on Thursday night. Ben Roethlisberger was stellar, completing 8 of his 12 attempts for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
