The Pittsburgh Steelers exercised some demons this Sunday evening with a 25-17 victory over the New England Patriots and handed QB Tom Brady his first loss at Heinz Field since the 2004 season. Ben Roethlisberger, not Brady, went all-out in the passing game, racking up 365 yards and two touchdowns.

Ike Taylor is a top-five cornerback, without a doubt – maybe even top-three. It’s funny, because in an article published prior to the season by USA Today, Ike Taylor wasn’t ranked among the top ten. In fact, he didn’t receive a single vote by any of the eight staffers making up the list and wasn’t included among the honorable mentions.

The Steelers find themselves back in first place in the AFC North with a 5-2 record and boast a league-best 171.9 passing yards allowed per game, but they'll face their toughest test of the season in a home date against the high-scoring offense of the New England Patriots.

The collapse of the passing offense in the second half was part-Ben, part-O-Line. After racking up over 300 yards in the first two quarters of action, Pittsburgh’s offense managed just 55 yards in the final two, and most of the problem lied with the team’s passing attack (though the running game sputtered a bit as well).

Troy Polamalu looks to be "good to go" for the Steelers' week-seven matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, a contest that features two teams that are very familiar with one another despite playing in different conferences.

Pittsburgh started fast, but couldn't put the Jaguars away in a game that began as a blowout and ended as a 17-13 squeaker and the Steelers' fourth win of the season. Rashard Mendenhall ran like a man possessed, racking up 146 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries and the Steelers defense hassled rookie Blaine Gabbert to the tune of five sacks.

The Steelers may have found the right combination on the offensive line, and it only took them eleven tries. In my Tomlin Report prior to the game in Indianapolis, I noted that Pittsburgh was going to debut its ninth-different line combination since the start of the 2010 season.

Led by Cameron Heyward and Marcus Gilbert, the current Steelers rookie class appears ready to follow in the footsteps of the 2010 class and make a strong contribution to the team right away.

After a 38-17 victory in what may have been the team's best game of the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will look to win back-to-back games with a home date against the 1-4 Jacksonville Jaguars.

The kickoff is dead. Long live the kickoff. As expected, the NFL's decision to move kickoffs to the 35 yard-line produced more touchbacks early in the season. But it did not eliminate the return touchdown.
