Searching for its first road victory against a ranked opponent in its last 17 games, Duquesne (0-1) came up short in its season opener, falling to the No. 16 Arizona Wildcats 67-59.

It was the 21st consecutive win at the McKale Center for the Wildcats, which is one of the longest streaks in the country.

The Duquesne University men’s basketball team is a team on the move. They have increased their standing in the eye of the NCAA basketball rankings consistently over recent years and head coach Ron Everhart and the Dukes look to continue this trend in the 2011-12 season.

Last year, the Dukes were 10-6 in their conference, good enough for a fourth place tie – the best finish since 1994.
