PSR Logo
The Islanders and Penguins will begin their First Round Playoff series Wednesday night at 7:30 in New York.

The Penguins, who have entered into their league-best 13th consecutive playoff campaign, will begin their quest for a sixth Stanley Cup as the Metropolitan third seed, playing Game’s 1 and 2 on the road against the two-seeded Islanders.

The series will shift to Pittsburgh on Sunday, Apr 14, with faceoff for Game 3 at PPG Paints Arena set for noon.

Pittsburgh finished the regular season 44-26-12 (100 points), sitting outside of the playoffs after 70% of the season for just the second time in the Sidney Crosby/Evgeni Malkin era.

Crosby collected his highest point total (100) – good for sixth in the league – since the 2013-14 season, rattling off 35 goals, while Jake Guentzel led the team with 40 goals, and Phil Kessel with 27.
