
Robert Morris tops Bryant to advance to NEC Championship

In an evenly-matched game between Northeast Conference’s second and third seeds, Robert Morris was looking to slow Bryant down offensively in Saturday afternoon’s contest in Moon Township, PA.
The Colonials were coming off a huge 91-68 win over Wagner in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Robert Morris jumped out to an early 14-3 lead, but the Bulldogs got back in the game quickly, and the rest of the first half was evenly matched. Robert Morris pulled ahead slightly to make it 30-25 at the half.
The Colonials held their lead at the start of the second half, but Bryant tied it up 35-35 with 14 minutes left off a 3-pointer by Dyami Starks.
The Bulldogs kept their slight lead for three minutes, but Colonials came back fighting. With 11 minutes left, the game was tied up again at 40 off a 3-pointer by Rodney Pryor.
The teams went back and forth for the early portion of the second half, but Robert Morris started to gain control with 8 minutes left, and pulled away late in the contest.
Elijah Minnie had 9 points and 8 rebounds for the Colonials, while Pryor added 12 and Lucky Jones 11.
Starks led Bryant with 19.
The Colonials will travel to Brooklyn to take on St. Francis NY Tuesday at 7pm for the chance to capture the NEC Championship title and earn the NCAA berth that goes with it.
