Senior running back Myles Russ (Boca Raton, Fla. / West Boca) of the Robert Morris University football team was honored with his second consecutive weekly honor from the Northeast Conference Monday. Russ was named the NEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, an accolade he shares with Jordan Brown of Bryant.

It marks the third award of the 2010 season for Russ as well as the fourth of his career. Russ was bestowed the honor after rushing for a season-high 154 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-11 victory over Duquesne (10/30) at Joe Walton Stadium that stretched RMU's winning streak to seven. He also added a pair of receptions for 12 yards to finish the afternoon with 166 all-purpose yards against the Dukes.

Trailing, 3-0, early in the second quarter, Russ posted a 13-yard run and a 14-yard scamper in a drive that was eventually capped by a nine-yard touchdown run from sophomore quarterback Jeff Sinclair (Natrona Heights, Pa. / Highlands) to help give Robert Morris a 7-3 advantage.

On RMU's next possession, which was also capped by a Sinclair touchdown run and opened up a 14-3 lead for the Colonials, Russ contributed four carries for 22 yards.

Russ added a pair of touchdown runs in the fourth quarter to help put the game away, the first of which came with 13:31 to play and gave Robert Morris a 27-3 advantage. The six-yard score was significant, as it allowed Russ to become the program's all-time leading rusher, passing former Colonial and current assistant coach Sam Dorsett.

Entering the final contest of a four-game homestand Saturday, Nov. 6, against Central Connecticut State (6-2 / 5-0 NEC), Russ owns 3,868 career rushing yards on 747 carries, an average of 5.2 yards per attempt. Against Duquesne, Russ surpassed Dorsett's mark of 3,847 rushing yards, which was compiled from 1999 to 2003, and he is also just 43 yards shy of breaking Dorsett's record for all-purpose yards of 4,255.

The performance against Duquesne marked the fifth 100-yard rushing game of the 2010 season for Russ as well as the 15th of his career, which is tied for second all-time at Robert Morris with inaugural running back Tim Hall (1994-95).

Led by Joe Walton, the only head coach in the 17-year history of the program, Robert Morris sits atop the NEC standings with an overall record of 7-1, including a perfect 6-0 mark in the league. The Colonials will square off with the Blue Devils in a Noon kickoff Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium.
