Dukes fall at Fordham

Duquesne's Derrick Colter had 17 points and 9 assists but the Dukes got manhandled on the boards (47-28) and lost at Fordham 82-75.

Colter’s game-high 17 points were not enough, however, as the Dukes fell to 7-8 on the season and 0-1 in the Atlantic 10.

Duquesne trailed for most of the game, as Fordham (5-11) attacked mostly on the inside. The Rams dominated in rebounds and capitalized on several Duquesne errors.

Colter, a freshman, reached double digits in his seventh consecutive game. He received help from teammates Kadeem Pantophlet with 13 points and six rebounds and Sean Johnson with 12 points.

Fordham’s biggest contributors were forward Chris Gaston with 18 points, center Ryan Canty with 12 points, and guard Branden Frazier with 16 points.

The Dukes return to the Palumbo Center on Saturday to take on St. Joseph’s, another Atlantic 10 rival.
