Steelers Timmons earns defensive player of the week honors

Linebacker had 11 tackles, two sacks and an interception against Cleveland

Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons was named the AFC defensive player of the week for his performance in the Steelers' 28-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday.


Timmons, a second-year starter at inside linebacker, recorded 11 tackles (nine solo), two sacks and an interception in the win against Cleveland.


Despite playing in just five games due the Steelers' Week 5 bye, Timmons is tied for fourth in the NFL in total tackles. He has three sacks, an interception and a forced fumble on the season.
