Pitt lands Penn Hills athlete

Receiver/d-back Corey Jones picks Panthers

Corey Jones, a 5-10, 165-pound wide receiver/defensive back from Penn Hills, gave a verbal commitment to the Pitt coaching staff over the weekend.

Jones, who also had offers from Miami, Maryland, West Virginia, Kansas and Cincinnati, is ranked by Scout.com as a 4-star recruit. He scored 16 touchdowns in five different ways as a junior: kick return, punt return, interception return, rushing and receiving. He caught 23 passes for 303 yards last season.

Jones is the 15th recruit in Todd Graham's class of 2012.
