Upper St. Clair linebacker/quarterback Dakota Conwell has made a verbal commitment to the University of Pittsburgh.
The 6-2, 205-pound Conwell chose Pitt over offers from Maryland, Toledo and Temple.
Conwell passed and rushed for nearly 2,000 yards combined as a junior a season ago. He also registered 64 tackles as a linebacker, which is the position he is expected to play at the college level.
His older brother Dane originally accepted a scholarship to Big Ten school Indiana before transferring to California-PA,
Conwell is the seventh commitment in Pitt coach Todd Graham's class of 2012 and the third from the WPIAL.
