Pitt basketball lands 2011 commitment

Baltimore's Johnson picks Panthers

Durand Johnson, a 6-6 combo guard from Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, has committed to Pitt. Originally from Baltimore, Johnson had offers from Maryland, Georgetown, Louisville, Xavier and at least a dozen others.


The Panthers now have commitments from two players named Johnson in their 2011 class. Durand Johnson joins Philadelphia's John Johnson, a 6-2 shooting guard, and power forward Jalen Bond as 2011 Pitt recruits.
