The Duquesne men's basketball program received a signed letter of intent from forward Joel Wright, a native of Jamaica who played high school basketball in Brooklyn.
Nicknamed "Air Jamaica," the 6-5, 215-pound Wright originally committed to Fordham 18 months ago but changed his mind when then-head coach Dereck Whittenburg was fired early in the 2009-10 season. Wright then decided to play at Manhattan College but that decision also fell through.
Wright's commitment to Duquesne, however, is binding.
He will be eligible to play this fall. Wright is the fifth member of coach Ron Everhart's 2010-11 recruiting class.
