Q.
Coach Tomlin said Ziggy Hood is a "Steeler-type player." What
exactly does that mean and how important is it really? Also, how
does an NFL Draft Analyst spend their draft day?
-- Frank Capobianco, Penn Hills
Former Steelers defensive lineman and current analyst Edmund Nelson:
"A "Steeler-type-player" is a hard-working, humble, well-grounded, respectful, coachable, blue collar all-around good citizen, team-before-self type guy. Sound familiar? He's made of the same stuff that this great city's population is made of. High maintenance, chest-pounding divas don't do well here.
"This year,
my draft day consisted of trying to waste time until the Steelers
had their first pick. I did everything but chores. It was a lot
different this year since the draft didn't start until 4 p.m.
so the day went awfully slow. I had a ton of anticipation built
up by the time the Steelers picked and I'm very pleased with Ziggy.
I look forward to meeting him and covering his first snaps in
the preseason."
