Big East Outlook

Predicted Finish

1. West Virginia - Rich Rodriquez is gone, as are a lot of the defensive starters, but the offensive system, along with Pat White and Noel Devine, remain.
2. South Florida
3. Pitt
4. Rutgers
5. Cincinnati
6. UConn
7. Louisville
8. Syracuse

Top Offensive Player: Pat White, West Virginia - The quarterback will be starting for his fourth season and is among the favorites for the Heisman Trophy after finishing fourth last season.

Top Defensive Player: George Selvie, South Florida - One of the most feared pass rushers in the country. Last season he amassed 14.5 sacks to go along with an NCAA best 31.5 tackles for loss.

Top Newcomer: Jonathan Baldwin, Pitt - Wide receivers with excellent speed and 6'6" size don't come around every day, so expect Baldwin to make an impact immediately.

Top Coaching Staff: Rutgers - Greg Schiano is one of the best head coaches in the country and is also the defensive coordinator. Assistant head coach/offensive line coach Kyle Flood and offensive coordinator John McNulty are also among the best at their positions.

Coach on the Hot Seat: Dave Wannstedt, Pitt - While he's in no immediate danger, expectations are high, especially with three straight excellent recruiting classes. The time to win is now.
