Don't
look now, but the over-the-hill coach of that collapsing college
football program in central Pennsylvania is loading up on some
pretty darn good prospects for the 2009 season. The Nittany Lions
have nine commitments already, including Maryland's Darrell Givens,
one of the best defensive backs in the country, and Eric Shrive
of West Scranton High School, the best offensive tackle in Pennsylvania.
Sure, Penn State didn't land Terrelle Pryor - another 117 other
Division 1 teams didn't either, by the way - but don't assume
that means JoePa, or the Lions, have lost it.
In case you weren't paying attention, Penn State is 29-9 over the past three seasons and boasts three bowl victories in that stretch.
Actually, it doesn't matter whether or not you were paying attention, because the ones who matter-high school recruits-have been.
