NFL Draft
Team Needs
By Mat Bell

1. Miami Dolphins - The Dolphins need help on both sides of the ball, particularly at offensive and defensive line. However the more pressing issue resides on the offensive side so look for them to draft a lineman.

2. St. Louis Rams - The defensive line has been a major issue for the Rams for a while now and they recently upgraded their defensive interior through signings. Look for them to draft an end.

3. Atlanta Falcons - Joey Harrington was not the long-term solution in Atlanta and the Falcons are in desperate need of a quarterback. Then again, they're in desperate need of a lot of things.

4. Oakland Raiders - The Raiders are in need of a stud pass rusher at either defensive end or defensive tackle, depending on where they play Tommy Kelly.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - The biggest concern for the Chiefs is at offensive line but cornerback is a problem area for Kansas City as well.

6. New York Jets - A play-making wide receiver is something that they Jets have lacked for some time now and with Justin McCareins finally gone, depth is an issue.

7. New England Patriots (from 49ers) - Asante Samuel, Randall Gay and Eugene Wilson are all gone and the Patriots don't have much in terms of a starting-caliber cornerback on their roster.

8. Baltimore Ravens - Steve McNair's time as a starting play caller is nearing an end and Kyle Boller has proven that he doesn't have what it takes to play quarterback in this league.

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Rush defense has been an issue for the Bengals since Marvin Lewis took the helm and they are in need of a big, run-stopping defensive tackle.

10. New Orleans Saints - The Saints lack an impact player at defensive tackle and it is time for them to bring someone in who can be a difference maker.

11. Buffalo Bills - Buffalo is in need of some size at the wideout position since their three starting receivers; Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish and Josh Reed are all under six-feet tall.

12. Denver Broncos - Sam Adams proved to be a bust and aside from picking a defensive tackle in the fourth round last year, there is no one who can make an impact at the position for Denver.

13. Carolina Panthers - Their offensive line isn't bad but it isn't good either and there are serious questions at the tackle position.

14. Chicago Bears - For years now the Bears have had issues under center and it's time for them to find a long-term solution.

15. Detroit Lions - With Kevin Jones gone and no starter-caliber running back on the roster, the Lions need someone who can dot the I.

16. Arizona Cardinals - The Cardinals are severely lacking quality and depth at the cornerback position now that Antrel Rolle has made the move to safety.

17. Minnesota Vikings - They addressed two of their weaknesses in free agency, wide receiver and safety, but still has a glaring hole at the defensive end position.

18. Houston Texans - Houston still hasn't addressed their offensive line problems since their inception. Just ask David Carr.

19. Philadelphia Eagles - Donovan McNabb, aside from the one year he had Terrell Owens, has worked without good receivers his whole career and could use a playmaker.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The Bucs need young help at wide receiver but a more glaring weakness is defensive tackle.

21. Washington Redskins - There is virtually no depth at defensive end since Philip Daniels is turning 35 and there is no one on the roster to replace him.

22. Dallas Cowboys (from Browns) - The Cowboys need an upgrade at cornerback after losing Jacques Reeves.

23. Pittsburgh Steelers - All-pro guard Alan Faneca is gone and the Steelers don't have anyone on the roster capable of replacing him. They will draft someone who can.

24. Tennessee Titans - They've wasted some mid-round picks on wide receivers and have gotten mixed results. It's time to give Vince Young a legit number one wide receiver.

25. Seattle Seahawks - Marcus Pollard is a free agent so the Seahawks need to draft a tight end that can block and be a weapon in the passing game.

26. Jacksonville Jaguars - Bobby McCray took off as a free agent so defensive end is now without question the Jaguars biggest need.

27. San Diego Chargers - The Chargers need a safety that can team up with Eric Weddle next year.

28. Dallas Cowboys - Terrell Owens is getting older and Terry Glenn's days may be numbered so the Cowboys could use a youthful infusion at the wideout position.

29. San Francisco 49ers (from Colts) - The 49ers need an explosive wide receiver but their most glaring weakness resides at the linebacker position.

30. Green Bay Packers - Al Harris and Charles Woodson are as good as it gets at cornerback but a lack of depth makes the position a draft need for the Packers.

31. New York Giants - The secondary is a big issue for the Giants so look for them to either draft a cornerback or a safety.
